The Lobby

As you enter Westminster Fire Station, the original carriage doors are permanently left open, inviting residents through the double-glass entrance into the lobby. The dedicated concierge greets you, offering guidance and assistance. Original and restored ceramic brick enriches the building with historic charm. Beyond the lobby, the bronze stationery directs you to the lift, the main stairwell and the courtyard, a tranquil oasis designed by James Lee.

The Courtyard

The enclosed courtyard, which was once a turning circle for fire trucks and an exercise yard for the firemen, now serves as a calm and secluded respite from busy city life. This inviting oasis is nestled between the Fire Station and the Station House, effortlessly bridging the old with the new.

Carefully selected plants breathe new life into the atmosphere. A gentle fountain adds to the natural sense of calm, completing a scene of tranquility visible from almost every apartment.

The Architecture

Throughout the buildings, new and old sit together harmoniously. The Station House façade, with its rows of custom-made iridescent bricks, is a modern reinterpretation of the original Station’s Edwardian architectural detailing. Bespoke brass screens, inspired by the building’s cast iron features, adorn the station house windows. Vision and design by Openstudio Architects.

While unmistakably contemporary, the design of the Station House also draws inspiration from the building’s past. From the horizontal banding on the exterior to the parquet wood flooring throughout the apartments, the Station House’s anatomy reveals extraordinary attention to detail; a place with strong identity and integrity that will evolve over time.

Show Apartments

Much like the development itself, three characterful and inviting show apartments marry the old with the new. Each show flat has its own unique concept, revealing the artistic and personalized potential of both the Fire Station and Station House apartments. Thoughtfully imagined and designed by Studio L, London.

Mathura, the Restaurant at Westminster Fire Station

Entering through the original carriage doors of the fire engine bays, you discover “Mathura” – the new restaurant from pioneering and twice Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar. Mathura is the culinary culmination of Kochhar’s travels around India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

Westminster Fire Station heralds a stylish new chapter in the metropolitan life of Victoria. Show apartments now open.
